Pittsburgh, PA

Soon after returning from ATL, we learned that Brandy's great aunt passed away, so we hopped right back in the car after a couple of days rest and headed up to Ohio for the funeral and to spend time with family. We were able to get away for half a day to see Pittsburgh, PA. While we were there, we took the Monongahela Incline up to see the city from high above. After a short time at Pittsburgh's Station Square, we headed off to find food at the famous Primanti Brothers' original location in the Strip District. Apparently, you leave Pittsburgh without trying a famous sandwich from this landmark. After Primantis, we headed to PNC Park to see the Pirates play the Tigers. I've got to tell you...the Pirates may be one of the worst teams in baseball every year, but that stadium is beautiful. PNC marked the 7th MLB stadium that Brandy and I have been to together, and the 15th for me. After the game, we drove back to Columbus, hung out the next day with family, had great food, and left right after the Preakness, which Animal Kingdom lost by about a half a length. On the way home, we drive through Hackleburg, AL and Smithville, MS to see first hand the tornado destruction. Words on this blog will not do it justice. The sheer force of an F5 tornado is unbelievable. It will be years before they recover. Both towns were absolutely leveled. No pictures of that. Could have taken some, but just spent that time taking it all in. Overall...it was a good trip under unfortunate circumstances, but it was good to see everyone.
