GO Pack GO!!!

At last, finally, I get to enjoy a Super Bowl win. Way to go Packers! Most of you know that Brandy and I went to Green Bay this year to see a game on the Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field (insert Chris Berman voice here). As a kid, I pulled for the Dolphins. But, after Dan Marino retired, I really didn't have any NFL team to pull for, nor much of an interest in the NFL anymore. I was in college at this point and this guy named Brett Favre from South Mississippi was coming along pretty good for the Packers, so naturally, I started pulling for him. Pulling for "him" became pulling for "them", as I started learning more and more about what the Packers were all about and the history and tradition behind that great franchise. The trip to Green Bay to watch them play in what would be Favre's last game at Lambeau (albeit as the Vikings QB) was amazing. I think Brandy even converted.

Congrats on the SB win for Donald Lee (MSU alum and Maben, MS resident) and for Donald Driver (Alcorn State alum), all-time leader in receiving yards for the Packers. Driver was a rookie the year AFTER the Packers won their last Super Bowl in 1996. Also, congrats to Aaron Rodgers for finally overcoming Favre and to Charles Woodson and Clay Matthews, two of my favorite defensive players for the Pack. Got to love Green Bay and the Packers. The entire city's population could fit in Cowboys Stadium. The fans own the team...seriously. And they are the smallest market in the NFL. 4 Super Bowl Championships and more world titles than any other team.

We had a small Super Bowl party with some friends over for the game. None of them were Packers fans, but they weren't Steelers fans either, so they played along. Check out the pics, including Will and his friend Delia dancing to the Blackeyed Peas at halftime and Brandy putting on the championship belt, a la Aaron Rodgers, SB XLV MVP.

Heading to Work or Home

If I'm lucky, this is the view that I get when I head to work or home. This land is behind a house about a quarter of a mile from my house and we usually get to see these two or three times a week. On this day, I stopped and took a picture. Do you think they saw me? There was one more out of range of the camera. I think he was the lookout.
