Around the House

Just a couple of pics from around the house recently.  In the last one, you can see part of the t-shirt blanket that Brandy and the church women's group worked on for quite some time.  It's awesome.  Brings back some great memories. 

The Return of the Cowbell Cruiser

Brandy won a United Way fundraiser auction a while back for the Cowbell Cruiser for the day.  A great time was once again had by all.  Our neighbors got into the act this year and took part in the tour.  Brandy and Amy went for a spin down Highway 12 and then Kevin and Amy went to Sonic.  The Cowbell Cruiser really needs to adorn a cowbell.  It's a little incomplete.  Regardless, we don't get to ride around in an automobile like that every day, so we had a good time.  I threw in the last pic which was a dinner during our first week of Ultimate Reset.  Roasted Root Medley with Zuchini/Cashew Soup and Quinoa.  Awesome!

Good Times

I've said it before, will say it now, and will continue to say it.  I'm blessed. 

Mr. Potato Head Contest

Will and his Mommy had a Mr. Potato Head contest to see who could come up with the most creative product.  Clearly, Will is proud of his entry. 

"Sweet" and "Sublime"

We took a quick weekend trip to ATL recently and had some pool fun and crossed a few things off "the list".  On our date afternoon/night, we were finally able to make it over to Sweetwater Brewery for the tour (Brandy even painted her toenails to mark the occasion), followed by a stop at world famous Sublime Donuts.  Sweetwater was packed with a college-aged/yuppie crowd.  The Tour itself was pretty lame when you compare it to the Busch tour in STL and the Sam Adams tour in Boston.  However, it was still neat to be in there and the perks were great.  It was also good to get away and have some time to ourselves for a bit.  Sublime was great.  We got a dozen of the gourmet donuts including the Strawberry Creme, the Orange Star, the Butterfinger Crunch, and the A-Town Creme.  As you can tell, they were quite tasty.  After Sublime, we went to Alfredo's in Buckhead.  It's a hole in the wall Italian place surrounded by strip clubs, but man, the food was out of sight and the service was great too.  It's certainly the best Italian that I have ever had in the city.  Go early and eat a bunch.  Highly recommended.  No pictures of our Alfredo's food...sorry, it didn't stay on the plate long enough for good pics.

No words needed for this one. Aly is really growing. Hard to believe that she's 8 months old.

A Fish Named Will

Will got his first official "swim" lessons this past week on campus.  Even though he's a HUGE fan of the water and is a social kid, he didn't like the experience like we thought he would.  If we had been able to be there with him, I think it would have been okay, but parents had to sit in the bleachers while the instructors (who were new to him) and the kids (who were also new to him) learned how to "swim".  While the pics may show progress and smiling faces, they really don't paint the real picture.  This is a work in progress with him, not so much the swiming part, but more so with the new people.  That's a bit of a concern with a school switch right around the corner.  He'll get better.

Randoms from Fort Lauderdale

I took a couple of more pics while I was in Fort Lauderdale...of the beach and the waterway right outside my hotel, as well as the Fort Lauderdale version of Rosey Baby, a longtime Starkville establishment. Though no pics, I definitely recommend an Irish restaurant called The Field. Make sure you go on a Thursday through Saturday. Awesome!
