The Floor General, Coach Brandy Akers

Brandy was selected to serve as the Guest Coach for the MSU Lady Dawgs in their game vs. University of Louisiana-Lafayette. She got to sit on the bench with the rest of the coaches and join the timeout huddles. She also had to deliver a brief two-minute speech to the team prior to tipoff. The team responded with a 30+ point win. So, in the span of a month, we've hosted the Egg Bowl trophy in our living room with the starting QB and Brandy has served as the Guest Coach courtside for a basketball game. You just really don't get to do that at D1 programs. That's a little of what makes Starkville and MSU so special. These kinds of things don't happen at most institutions and in most athletic departments. Go Dawgs!

A Few from Brandy's Camera

We bought Brandy a camera back during the Summer so that she could get some pics of Will if I had the camera with me for any reason. When she downloaded the images a few days ago, I noticed a few good ones that needed to be shared.

Thanksgiving, an Egg Bowl Surprise, Pre-Christmas, and the North Pole Express

As we approached the Christmas season, I had to recharge the camera battery a few times. I've got some great pics in this set with family during the ATL trip over Thanksgiving. There are also some pics of my Egg Bowl surprise with the Trophy, Chris Relf, and Ladarius Perkins. All I can say on that one is Wow! Brandy (and our friend, Beth) really pulled one over on me. Outstanding! There are a few Christmas pics in here as well as one of the Mighty Turducken...cooked for the first time at this year's Egg Bowl. Finally, we do have some pics in here of the trip to Calera, AL for the North Pole Express. We took Will and Aly and went with our friends/neighbors, the Burchfields, to see the North Pole and Santa Claus via the North Pole Express. I let you judge from the pics if the kids and adults had a good time.
